Welcome to the Macedon CFA website

The Macedon Fire Brigade is a volunteer organisation responsible for the prevention and suppression of fire and assistance during other emergencies. This brigade is responsible for the residential, industrial and rural areas of Macedon and the surrounding areas. Under the direction of CFA, Macedon Fire Brigade also provides support to many other emergency service agencies, in the event of a major incident, whether within the Macedon assignment zone or not.

Over the past 10 years Macedon Fire Brigade has taken part in major fire fighting campaigns in South Australia, Queensland, NSW, and the North East of Victoria. This is, of course, apart for the fires that have occurred within our own general area, such as Macedon, Trentham, Daylesford and, most recently, Whittlesea/Kinglake.

Our brigade is made up of approximately 50 members from various walks of life which include tradespeople and professionals. The Brigade Management Team consists of a Captain and 6 other officers who are elected by the brigade members every two years. The Brigade is also supported by an Operations Officer and Operations Manager who are appointed by the Country Fire Authority (CFA).

Macedon Fire Brigade is a member of the Mount Macedon Group of brigades, which comprises eight brigades who regularly provide operational support to one another. The Mount Macedon Group consists of Bullengarook, Gisborne, Heskett, Macedon, Mt Macedon, Newham, Riddells Creek and Woodend fire brigades.
